Although she is a thoroughly modern and urban Native Canadian, when Angela was approaching full term in her pregnancy, she appreciated her Grandmother coming to visit from the Rama reserve. They spent many hours talking about motherhood, pregnancy, childbirth and life in general, passing cultural understandings from one generation to another. I met some of her family at this time when I was taking photographs around my apartment, doing a project on Inner City Neighbours; perhaps because her brother, Steven Snake is a successful Native landscape painter, she and her family tolerated my hesitant and faltering photoelectric artistic efforts.
